Korean men and women have always had flawless skin that makes the rest of us extremely jealous. But they are not all born with it. Most Koreans go through exhausting skin care regimens to keep their skin healthy and glowing. They also have some of their own secrets which are certainly not secrets anymore, for their beautiful skin.
So, here are some of the Korean skin care hacks that most people would swear by flawless, beautiful skin!
1. DOUBLE CLEANSING
This hack has taken over the world and many have incorporated it in their daily skincare routines. First, you apply an oil based cleanser and then a foam based one. In this way impurities that can be wiped away with oil (like makeup, sebum etc.) and those that can be wiped away with water (dirt, sweat) can be dealt with.
2. FACE MASSAGE
Face massaging is a technique used by many, many Koreans in order to not just have healthy, glowing skin, but also tighten, brighten and slim (yes, slim!) the face.
3. ICE WATER (JAMSU)
This may seem a little crazy but there are people who swear by this hack but it is not for the weak. So, the point of this routine is to give your face a soft, matte look and it does that pretty well. You need to apply your foundation and concealer as usual, put baby powder all over your face then dunk your face in ice cold water for 30 second. Seems crazy? But, it definitely works! Watch these ladies try it out!
- OVERNIGHT MASKS
This was a trend that started mainly in South Korea but now has spread everywhere. The idea behind this is that instead of just night creams, overnight masks when applied before you sleep, gives you moisturised, hydrated and glowing skin the next morning.
- DAMP CLOTH
Korean men and women may recommend this extremely simple trick for people with dry skin but this works just okay with combination skin as well (as I have tried and love this hack). The theory is that covering your face with a damp cloth opens up your pores and also increase blood circulation. This hack also works for those who just want good skin without much damage to their wallet (or their senses, as Jamsu would affect that).
- BARLEY TEA
Made by adding roasted barley to water and then boiling it, barley tea has a number of advantages. While it prevents tooth decay and even helps in fighting a cold, barley is rich in antioxidants which heals cell and DNA damages. It prevents wrinkles and provides healthy skin.
