“Patience” the new track from alternative electropop duo ‘The Familiar’, explores the duo’s personal territory and challenges the typical electro-pop sound by incorporating their dark, Norwegian influences.

The Familiar is made up of Brooklyn-based singer Ruth Mirsky, and Norwegian-based producer Mads Martinsen. Lyrically, the song “Patience” is a plea for patience to a lover, sung by vocalist Ruth, over a pulsating synth-driven beat from producer Mads.

The unlikely duo recently released their EP “Rooms” in 2014. The band was hailed as “the Best New Music From Around the World” in The Guardian, while the single from the album “World Ends” has since received over 110,000 streams on Spotify, and another single “Don’t Wait For Me” was featured on MTV‘s Awkward. The Familiar are working on releasing a new EP, due out early this fall.
