Summer this year is looking to be another great time for K-pop in the international scene, and the season couldn’t have started off on a more fun note than with KCON 2017 NY.
The third event of its caliber in the New York metro area happening on KCON’s fifth year running, this year’s KCON NY broke records with stunning numbers. 43,000 fans made it to the venue to see their favorite stars and join fellow fans at the convention, nine artists turned the show into a blast on stage, and more than 100 sponsors and partners joined the party.
CNBLUE was one of the four artists scheduled for Day 2 and the second night of concerts, bringing the power of their time-honed instruments and vocals to the international event. CNBLUE were also the only veterans in the house that night, and demonstrated how years of experience performing on stage and running amazing shows will absolutely make an impact.
Kevin Woo, from the boy group U-KISS, was the host of the second night of the Red Carpet, and he didn’t miss out on shaking things up and building on the bond between the K-pop fans in the crowd and K-pop stars on the stage.
Kevin asked CNBLUE if they were happy to see their international fans again after a long time, since the last time the band was at KCON was at the 2014 LA event. Kevin also shined the spotlight on CNBLUE’s outfits specially chosen for the Red Carpet, encouraging CNBLUE to share with fans the thought that went into the looks and fashion. CNBLUE went with a selection of shirts paired with black pants and shoes, highlighting the mature side of their past couple of comebacks.
CNBLUE is a four-man band, featuring Jung Yong-hwa, Lee Jong-hyun, Kang Min-hyuk, and Lee Jung-shin as the vocalists, rappers, and players of multiple instruments: guitar, bass, and drums.
CNBLUE debuted in 2010 as FNC Entertainment’s second boy band after FTISLAND. They’ve become popular not only for their superb vocals and talent with the instruments, but also for their prowess with all aspects of producing music: composing, writing lyrics, and more. CNBLUE made their latest comeback in March, with their 8th Korean EP “7℃N”, with “Between Us”as the lead single.
