Corinne Bailey Rae‘s latest single “Stop Where You Are” and music video is a beautifully delicate rendition of hope and triumph against fear and despondency.
When she released the video, Corinne Bailey Rae posted this on her Facebook:
“When I first thought of the video for Stop Where You Are I imagined being on the top of mountain or with a group of friends sitting around a fire at night time – it is easy to appreciate your life in those moments. However, I was impressed by the favouritecolourblack video treatment because it located the song in an urban environment, in places you don’t necessarily feel safe and around people you don’t know. It’s harder to appreciate your life when you are waiting for a bus in the rain, or rushing to work, yet all these moments are precious and should be valued. The video to me speaks of the way we sometimes judge each other based on how we look without knowing each others stories. I love how the people in the film break down the imagined barriers between themselves in order to be together in the moment.”
Corinne Bailey Rae is going on tour through parts of North America, Asia and Europe, beginning April 30 through August 28, 2016. Check out her website and Facebook for dates.
