A pretty unexpected collab if we’ve ever heard of one. Linkin Park, Stormzy, and Pusha T all on the same track: Good Goodbye. Some serious genre benders here. In all honesty, it’s not exactly your run-of-the-mill grime banger, but who’s not up for some change now and then. Let us know what you think about it.
Visuals were pretty tastefully done. Nothing’s super in your face and the lyrics are kept basic and easy to follow. You’ve got some seriously vibey shots layered with some surrealistic editing. Very artistic stuff on that lyric video. Let yourself get lost in it and don’t take the song too seriously.
Good Goodbye is exactly what you’d think a collab from Linkin Park and two emcees would sound. LP took care of the hook with their usual Linkin Park sound. It’s pretty simple. They start off with the hook, then Pusha T gets a verse, hook, Pusha T, then you get what we all really want – Stormzy. Unfortunately, he only gets the one verse. Can’t deny it’s a pretty sweet collab though. You see a different side of Stormzy slowing it down just a bit and flowing with the pop-rock beat.
There’s been a bit of talk of “selling out”. Rappers have been collaborating with poppier sounding songs for decades. If selling out equals branching out, then hip-hop wouldn’t ever go anywhere. Don’t buy into all of that and just enjoy it for what it is. A cool collaboration from three talented artists.
