Opening Ceremony founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have released an extended music called “Yo My Saint.” in their capacity as the creative directors of Kenzo. The music video is in support of the Spring/Summer 2018 collection for the french-Japanese fashion brand.
The music video, which is a duet, tells the story of an esteemed fashion photographer who is enchanted by the memory of a particular model. Obviously in love, he pins for her through song, and she responds. But, her responses are sort of not in real time. They are through a music video (within the music video) or through the images of her in his head that keep interrupting him. And, to underscore the precariousness of his memory, a tarantula is part of the imagery of her in his head.
“Yo, My Saint” was directed by Ana Lily Amirpour. The music is by artist Karen O, with male vocals provided by British soul singer Michael Kiwanuka.
You can hear the uninterrupted version of the music, below.
