Is this your first time in Canada? How many fans do you think you have over here?

No, this isn’t my first visit to Canada, but it is my first time performing in Canada.  I really didn’t think about it. I been so focused on my Europe tour. America and Canada, I always felt like it would come last. I was kind of taken back, because it came so soon. When I heard I would be coming to Canada, I thought it would be a small meet and greet with maybe like 30 people (100 people showed up to this event), and then it was like ‘oh, you’re going to sing’. I’m very thankful that people are interested in who I am in Canada.

For your new song “Up & Down” which features Hayana,  is there any other artist you would like to collab with in the future?

Collaborations are a lot more fun than I thought, and it really brings another dynamic to my music. I’m friends with a lot of people who do music. I trained with 24K and I’m friends with David Oh as well. We always talk about doing something together but nothing is set yet. I’m having my fingers crossed that something will come up soon.

Where do you see yourself a year from now,  as an artist?

Hopefully releasing music more frequently, something like summer or early fall. Also I would really like to release a Christmas album. It’s my favorite holiday. I love Christmas.

When you’re on stage and performing, how different is that persona from the real you?

No, it’s basically me. I like to be a singer song writer, I have to represent who I am.  I feel like I live a normal life, nothing too dramatic like other people that I know.  I want to be very honest and I don’t want to be someone who I am not. When I’m on stage,  I am 100% me.  Although I live a normal life, I still have a story to tell. All the awkward stuff will be seen on stage as it would off stage. I want to be someone who is approachable and relateable to my my fan. I want them to think they can live life knowing that their favorite artist isn’t too far for them.

Do you write you own music? If so what are your favorite song to write, or what turned out to be your favorite song on the album.

Yes, I write my own music. I need to have experience and get the inspiration as a singer song writer. It’s a lot more lenient having to write your own music, than feeling like you have to get work out in a few months or so. Since I’m so involved with the whole process of getting the music out, it’s a lot different than being an idol.

Up and Down is favorite song on the new album.  Worked on it three years ago before Exid came out, with their own version.  Think it’s great timing for when the song got release because I got the opportunity to collab with Hayana

When did you realize you want to pursue music? Was there any specific influence for this path you have started on.

Jason Mraz – I’m Yours

I really love his musicality and the story he tells with his music.
