Singer/songwriter Joy Oladokun could be mistaken for a veteran artist with many albums already, after a listen to her new single “Shelter.” The soulful acoustic track is from her debut album “Carry,” said to be forthcoming on April 29.

As she shared on her Facebook, Joy was inspired by the legendary Tracy Chapman, and there is no mistaking the shared DNA of their music. Emotional, authentic, and unvarnished, Joy sings optimistically about love, regardless of past hurt or imperfections.
