As the title implies, this is not a happy song. The pixie-like Juniel, who normally sings of happy things in happy places, is taking a break to address something real and profound in her next comeback “Last Carnival.”

The teaser features the artist’s sunken eyes, and what looks like a golden tear beneath them. A contemplative keyboard melody plays, all the while. Last Carnival will be released on August 8.

Juniel previously shared the lyrics to the single on her Instagram, and it featured abrasive and abusive language. It appears the intention of the comeback is to put a spotlight on dating abuse, and unhealthy relationships. A timely topic in an industry that too often, would rather sweep unpleasant but real issues under the carpet.
