KCON is coming to Europe for the very first time this year. Although KCON only announced the dates for its fifth-time stops in the United States at first, the event organizers CJ E&M also informed the media and public of additional dates in Japan, as well as KCON’s first time in the Middle East. KCON will take place in France for its first ever European stop this summer, on June 2 at the Accor Hotel in Paris.
K-pop artists who are confirmed to be attending KCON’s first European stop in Paris are: SHINee, f(x), F.T. Island, Block B, BTS, and Produce 101 girl group IOI. Leeteuk of Super Junior will be the host and MC for the event. Tickets for the France stop will be available for purchase starting on April 29. CJ E&M official Shin Hyung-gwan revealed that the United States and Japan were prioritized first because of the two countries’ status as the largest music and content markets in the world, but that this year KCON also expanded to the Middle East and Europe because of the fan base and potential in those markets.
KCON has already successfully wrapped up its first-time stop in the Middle East, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates last March, and in Saitama, Japan earlier this April. KCON has also confirmed some of the artists who will be attending the upcoming stops in the United States: Seventeen and Ailee will be joining the fans in New York this June, while Block B and Gfriend will be performing in Los Angeles this July.
