CJ E&M, parent company of Mnet, will host KCON, the popular Korean music and culture convention, from April 9 to 10 in Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, near Tokyo. Japan is one of this year’s important stops for KCON. KCON has recently concluded its stop in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in the Middle East this month and will move to Los Angeles and near New York this summer.

This year’s event is the second instance of KCON happening in Japan. The last one was KCON 2015 Japan in Saitama Super Arena, in Saitama, Japan, also near Tokyo, and which also took place in April. KCON events feature a festival and convention dedicated to K-pop, Korean dramas, Korean food, and other cultural performances, and is open to everyone looking to experience Korean culture for themselves.




The hosts and MC’s for this KCON stop will be former member of top girl group Kara, Seungyeon, and Yoonhak of boy group Supernova, whose sister group is T-ara. Mnet’s music show M! Countdown will also participate in KCON’s stop in Japan this year. The finalized roster and lineup for KCON in Japan this year is:


April 9 (Saturday): AOA, Infinite’s Sunggyu, Lovelyz, Monsta X, former Kara member Nicole, N.Flying, WINNER, and M.I.B.’s Kangnam.

April 10 (Sunday): 2PM, Boyfriend, DAY6, Heize, JunJin, Block B’s ZICO, TWICE, and SNUPER.

Other featured artists are Beat Win, Choi Woo Sik, CLC, Code-V, Heopop, Hotshot, JJCC, THE Ftion, Tritops, and THE 5tion.
