After so many years of not being able to produce or release her own music, Kesha has dropped the dollar sign from her name and dropped a new single. “Praying” seems to be the response to how things went over during her legal fight.
Not only does the singer drop the dollar sign, she also drops the auto tune and belts out some serious notes for this one. The video show the singer first on water with narrating as if thinking to herself. She plays the piano, goes to a small church and runs away from some scary looking guys.
“I hope you’re somewhere praying/Praying/I hope you’re heart is changing/Changing…”
The lyrics aren’t the cries of a bitter woman or of someone who is trying to expose another. The singer shows that she is moving on and only hopes that there is a lesson learned for the other person. She calls no names and tells no truths but her own. She shows that she is finally at piece.
