Sometimes too much of a good thing is not always a bad thing, but Team Illionaire could let the people rest a little, during their sets. The guys had the crowd “turnt” with hit after hit, many in their signature staccato rapping mixed with dirty south style of hip-hop, including their hit single “2Chainz and Rollies.”
The three artists barnstormed the stage, at the same time, together, non-stop for two hours straight. Although still in their mid to early twenties, all combined the IBC have a total of 28 years in “the game”, with a total of at least 160 tracks released. Put all that into two hours and… “there is no rest for the weary.”
The Illionaire hand sign is one of the most intelligent and characteristic of symbols in all of hiphop-dom. To the un-initiated, the hand sign seems to be an act of defiance in “gangstaland”. That’s because, it is the same as a gun. But, it all comes down to orientation and perspective.
When you do the Illionaire hand sign make sure your palms are facing away from you, with fingers pointed upwards. And then, anyone looking at you will see an “I” and an “L…” for Illionaire.
Oh, and please, don’t ever flash that sign in the wrong neighborhood or towards a cop, regardless of whichever Illionaire track you’re blasting in your car stereo or iPod. Because then, it means “guns in the air.”
