Lee Soo Man’s influence is big indeed as he becomes the very first Korean to have been given the award in the event!
Lee Soo Man, SM Entertainment’s CEO was one of the awardees who attended the recent ‘2016 Asia Game Changer Awards‘ on October 27 at the United Nations in New York. He was labeled “music game changer” as he was the one to make a big improvement in Asia’s music through K-pop. The event expressed its gratitude to him for popularizing K-pop and giving opportunities in market expansion in Asia.
He was awarded alongside Zhang Yimou, a Chinese film director, I.M. Pei, an architect, Sanduk Ruit, a doctor and Karim Wasfi, an orchestral conductor and many more.
‘2016 Asia Game Changer Awards‘ is an award-giving body who honors individuals, organizations and movements who have contributed great things to Asia’s policy and business, arts and culture and education. It was launched in Asia Society back in 2014 and has since then began distributing awards to deserving awardees. The nominations for the awards come from the Asia Global Network which then undergo a deliberation before announcing the result.
