The major K-pop award shows will be taking place soon!

This week on October 7, MelOnLOEN Entertainment’s streaming music service – announced that they will be holding their annual show “2016 Melon Music Awards” next month in Seoul, on Saturday, November 19.

Earlier this week on October 6, MnetCJ E&M’s music and media company – confirmed that they will be holding “2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards” in two months’ time – on December 2, in Hong Kong.

The K-pop groups, soloists, and other artists who are confirmed to be attending the 2016 Melon Music Awards (“MMA”) are EXO, BTS, iKON, Zico, TWICE, Gfriend, and I.O.I. More artists will be announced as the lineup expands in the coming weeks.

For the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards (“MAMA”), the K-pop artists who will be performing are EXO, BTS, Infinite, I.O.I., GOT7, NCT, Red Velvet, AOMG, iKON, F.T. Island, Seventeen, WINNER, A Pink, Monsta X, Black Pink, Cosmic Girls, Lee Jongseok, and Super Junior’s Leeteuk. Other artists are expected to join the lineup soon.

Both events will be live-streamed on 1theK’s (LOEN Entertainment/MelOn) and PlayMnet’s (Mnet Media) official YouTube channels for international fans, just like last year.

The annual 2016 Dream Concert was successfully held last summer in Seoul, on June 4. The 2016 K-pop World Festival just wrapped up last week on September 30 in Changwon, and the 2016 Asia Song Festival will be taking place tomorrow October 9 in Busan.

After MelOn’s and Mnet’s music award shows in the coming months, the big three year-end K-pop shows will come next – in the last two weeks of December: KBS Gayo Daejejeon, SBS Gayo Daejeon, and MBC Gayo Daechukje.
