“Could We Just Talk Instead?”

“Could We Just Talk Instead?” is a melancholy track that slows Miles‘s sound to a hypnotic melody that keeps the listener’s attention. The audio release features a picture-in-picture format with a video of the singer on a guitar surrounded by a blue screen. The words of the song are also shown at the bottom of the screen as we hear him sing.

The song really does ask many questions that are and should be asked. Through the words, we get a picture of how distant people are getting from the world and its events. The singer speaks of people losing their sense of self and selflessness; only concerned with the latest gossip, instead the latest news.

“Cause I believe, I believe we must critique/But you believe, you believe it’s not that deep/I believe I believe we must rebuild/But you believe, you believe in life fulfilled…”

He’s finally releasing his debut project Limbo. The upcoming mini-album features a number of previously released tracks such as “IVRY” and “Fireworks”. His mini-album is set for release October 6, look out.

Originally from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, hence the name, Miles is a London-based artist making punchy R&B that’s as much a throwback as it is a slice of the future. (pigeonsandplanes.com) With a full debut just months away, there is little known about the artist. But his project is well anticipated.
