Seoulsonic 2013 tour brought three fun and interesting bands to New York City. After playing at SXSW in early March, they played in Brooklyn on Thursday 03-28-13, and on Saturday 03-30-13 GoodMoMusic.com caught up with them at Nublu on the lower east-side of Manhattan.
Formed in 1996, No Brain is a South Korean punk-rock band that has played over 3000 shows and practically helped introduce rock to the general populace in South Korea. No Brain has won many accolades for their prowess including 2008 Korean Music Awards, Netizen’s Choice: Rock Band of the Year.
Goonam, is a folksy kind of rock band you’ll want to take everywhere with you, literally. Originally a duo they now include a delightful keyboardist and a drummer with really tranquil eyes. They released their first album in 2007. Goonam was nominated for the 2012 Korean Music Awards, Modern Rock Band of the Year. They played SXSW earlier in March 2013.
Lowdown 30 is a popular blues, rock and alternative rock band from South Korea. The band is composed of Kim Rock Gun (bass), Kim Tae Hyun (drums), and Yoon Byeong Joo (guitar/vocals). The trio who came together in 2000, have won several awards and were a Korean Music Awards nominee for best Rock Song in 2012. They recently played at South By South West in 2013.
