The music of Shaka Shabazz is one that sounds so familiar, but yet so distant. Listening to him that beautiful spring morning at the corner of 125th Street and Lenox Avenue in front of the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building in Harlem U.S.A, one couldn’t help but feel a haunting sense of nostalgia of a time passed or quickly passing away. Shaka Shabazz may well be the remnant of a kind of live music seemingly in its last throws.
