UK Grime artist Skepta is coming to New York City! End of story, you can go home, now!

No, not really, just playing. But, the “Shutdown” artist coming to perform in New York city at Webster Hall on May 11, after making an appearance at SXSW in March, goes to show the growing influence of the hip-hop sub-genre in America.

In addition to the surprise announcement for the show, Skepta also let it be known that his new album will be out on May 6, which is just in time for the NYC show. The album, which has 12 tracks, is called Konnichiwa and it is his fourth studio album.

Listed in the scribbled-in track-list are the pre-released “That’s Not Me” and “Shutdown.” In an interview with i-D magazine, Skepta described the upcoming album as “Three years of my life encapsulated on a CD.”
