Just before Stormzy blew up like a firecracker, with his first album “Gang Signs & Prayer,” he was just a young man from the ends who gathered the neighbors together to help him make his music videos. But then, sometimes people forget where they’re from when they hit it big. Not Stormzy, tho. To film the visuals for the next single from the album, “Blinded By Your Grace“, Stormzy returned to his roots, gathering the neighbors once again together for the visuals.

“Blinded By Your Grace” is certainly somewhat of a departure from a guy whose other name is wicked skengman. PS: a skeng is a knife. But, the whole debut album was a bit of a departure from the hard grime Stormzy is known to make. In a sense, “Gang Signs and Prayer” was toned down a bit so that it could appeal to a broader crowd. And, boy did it pay off!

In the track, a humbled and thankful Stormzy sends his petition on high to the Most High, in thanksgiving. And, anyone who nows Stormzy’s story and how his dad wasn’t exactly in the picture, and how his mom struggled to provide for him and his siblings, will understand the sentiments expressed in the track.

The other singles from “Gang Signs and Prayer” are “Cold,” Cigarettes and Cush, and “Big For Your Boots.” Although, it’s on the album “Shut Up” was pre-released long before the album.
