Who here is excited that KCON 2015 will be bigger than ever!?
Me! That’s who, and I’m sure many of you are looking forward to this as well. Can we first talk about how crazy that Kcon is no longer just happening in LA, but it is also happening in the New York area. Over the years, Kcon keeps reinventing and expanding itself, attracting more people each year to this wonderful haven of Kpop. The event used to be 1 day, and then it became 2 days, and this year, they are going even bigger! The event will be a 3-day event at the Staples Centre in LA.
For most of us Kcon-ners, we know how the LA scene is, and I am looking forward to what packages and deals they will have towards ticketing. But, for KconNY as they would like to call it, a lot of fans are speculating on what to expect. Will there be the same artist or will the lineup be completely different? How long will the show be, how is the venue that they are keeping it at, how many people are they anticipating? There are so many questions out there that avid Kcon-ners and Kpop fans want answers to.
On May 14th, during Kcon organizers weekly live chat, they announced the first artist to perform for KconLA. Super Junior!!! This announcement drew a mixed reactions from those anticipating the event. For any North American E.L.F’s this was the best thing Kcon could have ever announced, since Super Junior has not performed in the USA since 2012. For newbie’s to the Kpop world, who don’t know Super Junior, they feel that they aren’t relevant, as some commented on KCON’s Twitter. For those newbie’s or fans who like the younger groups, no need to freak out. There is still lots of artists to go around for the three whole days, and that will be revealed as the weeks go by. For E.L.F’s this is such a great treat, considering that 2 of the members will be going into the army later this year. And, they are hoping to see them before they head off.
