Summer this year started off on a blast, with KCON 2017 NY getting the ball rolling and driving the hype for the season to new highs last month.

Running for two whole days from June 24 to 25, this year’s KCON broke new records for the culture convention and music festival. KCON 2017 NY brought 43,000 fans in the house, booked 9 artists on the stage, and got to draw more than 100 sponsors and partners on the floor to present their latest offerings to everyone in the venue.

KCON.TV also stepped it up, opening up the two nights of Red Carpet and Concerts to the fans who couldn’t make it to the New York metro area that weekend. Fans who tuned in got to watch the event from the comfort of their home, and also got to access KCON.TV’s huge library of exclusive K-pop content. This is the second KCON USA event streamed on KCON.TV, after the on-demand streaming service dedicated to all things K-pop launched in July 2016, just in time for KCON 2016 LA.

Twice was the second of the two girl groups who made the journey to the East Coast, making the day of all the Once, Twice’s fandom, who also traveled all the way to the New York metro to meet them for real and watch them up close. Twice are JYP Entertainment’s latest girl group, and their debut was anticipated by fans everywhere for a long time.

When Twice’s debut finally happened a short time after the finale of their pre-debut idol survival reality show Sixteen, their first ever single “Like Ooh-Aah” shot to the top of the charts for several weeks straight. Twice’s star power, popularity with K-pop fans all over the place, and chart dominance just got better and better with their follow-up comebacks.

Twice also expanded to more variety shows where they shared their uniquely quirky personalities with the world, concerts and events where they sang and danced in front of huge crowds, and fansigns that sold out quick, what with all the fans who really wanted to meet them in person for a long time, share what they’ve always wanted to say to their favorite stars, and get their faves’ autographs on their albums and CD’s.

Kevin Woo from U-KISS was the host of the second night of the KCON NY Red Carpet, and he was all for connecting Once, the fans in the crowd, and Twice, the stars on stage. Kevin asked if Twice were happy to see their fans again. This time it was the East Coast’s turn, after Twice made their official KCON USA debut last year on the West Coast, for KCON 2016 Los Angeles.

Kevin also asked Twice about their choice of outfits for the night’s Red Carpet. Jihyo, Chaeyoung, Sana, Jeongyeon, and Tzuyu chose black dresses for the occasion, while Mina went with a white dress, and Dahyun, Nayeon, and Momo rolled with white tops and black skirts.

Twice has nine members:

Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Dahyun, and Chaeyoung from Korea:

Momo, Sana, and Mina from Japan:

And Tzuyu from Taiwan:

Twice debuted in October 2015 with “Like Ooh-Aah” off their first EP “The Story Begins”, after the Mnet and JYP idol survival reality show Sixteen wrapped up. Twice rose to the top of the charts and gained lots of popularity straight off their debut, and things only went up with their follow-up singles “Cheer Up”, “TT”, and “Knock Knock”.

Twice made their latest comeback in Korea with “Signal”, and recently made their debut in Japan with their first best-of album “#Twice”, featuring both Japanese and Korean versions of all their five major singles.
